Information for Participants

Greetings Everyone!

Ready for the 2012 Texas Yoga Conference? We are very excited about the event and hope you are too! We have several things we wish for you to consider as a visitor, presenter or sponsor of our event. This year’s event will be held at the University of Houston Recreation and Wellness Center on the UH Main Campus.

*4500 University Drive
Houston, Texas 77204-6056

*NOTE: The Zip Code is VERY IMPORTANT as there are TWO University Drives in Houston

Housing & Accommodations:

We recommend posting on our Texas Yoga Conference 2012 Facebook page any housing need requests if you are an attendee/presenter/sponsor who wants to find a host to provide you with a free place to stay. We will reserve a block of rooms at the University of Houston Hilton Hotel on the University of Houston (UH) Campus very close to the event (walking distance).

For other great deals on accommodations, try using Hotwire or Expedia. You can get a 4 star hotel for a great price well below $90 per night typically! Also, visit our website under logistics for other accommodation ideas. Since Houston is a big city without great public transportation, you might consider renting a car as well. Cars can be rented for less than $20/day.

*Presenters: If we have discussed accommodations with you, we will contact you by separate communication about your accommodations.

Flights:

Houston has two airports. Hobby (airport code HOU) which services mostly Southwest Airlines and Bush Intercontinental (airport code IAH) which services most other airlines. Hobby is closer to town in the south of town. Both airports have shuttles to downtown. Taxis are available and abundant. They are between $40-60 to downtown/UH. Cars can be rented from the airports at the terminal.
