Veteran yoga teacher Marita Gardner-Anopol, has been practicing yoga for 40 years and teaching more than 30. Founder of the Kingwood Yoga & Wellness Center she facilitates the teacher training certification program at the 200/500-hour level. In 1995 she established Yoga 4 Kids®, and is one of the founders of the movement for school yoga. She created Yoga in School© for Classroom Management and conducts workshops for Educators, Therapists, Yoga Teachers and Parents.
Marita developed the board game “Yoga 4 Kids” and produced the instructional DVD “Yoga 4 Kids with Marita Gardner-Anopol”. Her Yoga 4 Kids program was featured in TIME magazine and she was cited as a pioneer of yoga for young people. She was praised by KPRC-2 News and appeared on the TODAY show with Matt Lauer.
Marita designed and instituted the yoga curriculum for the kinesiology department at Lone Star College and is a Faculty member since 2005.
She created Yoga 4 Corporate America and introduced yoga to executives at Allied Signal, Chanel, Estee Lauder, Honeywell, IBM, Prudential, Sony & Weatherford. Marita has brought yoga to Schools, Camps, Clubs, Homes, Senior Centers & the Office. She provides yoga therapy to people ages 4-104 and is well known and respected for her therapeutic and effective teaching.
Marita was accepted as a professional member into the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is a founding board member for the International Association for School Yoga & Mindfulness. A wellness coach and ambassador to yoga teachers Marita credits her vibrant good health and unflagging energy to her daily yoga practice.
