We at the Texas Yoga Conference feel that our inaugural conference this past February was a huge success, and we appreciate the part many of you played in making it so! It's exciting and inspiring to witness the magic that happens when businesses with like-mindedness and teachers with such diverse lineages and unique approaches come together to share their love of yoga! And it's just as exciting and inspiring to see how things are falling into place for the 2011 Texas Yoga Conference, which will be held February 26 and 27, 2011, at the lovely University of St. Thomas - Jerabeck Athletic Center - in Houston, Texas.
We have such exciting news to share with you! We recently booked MC Yogi in 2011 with Sean Johnson opening on Saturday, February 26, 2010. We also have a first annual Bhakti Bash planned that weekend to be led by Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band. We also have Duncan Wong, Sadie Nardini in the line-up and of course all of our fabulous Texas talent! To promote the talent and spirit of Texas is our mission.
We feel that those who presented in 2010 were instrumental in making our inaugural conference a success and want to remind the community that proposals for presenting at next year's conference are due July 31, 2010. In the spirit of both expanding and uniting the yoga community, we are looking to create a schedule that is fresh and fun, yet still inclusive and accessible to all levels of practitioner, from the brand new beginner, to the more experienced yogi.
We are looking for a wide range of workshops: everything from lectures on the history of the practice and its healing benefits in today's society; to challenging, sweaty asana practices; from deepening the practice of experienced yogis to introducing the basic principles of yoga and relaxation to those less familiar with the practice.
So show us that Texas spirit! We would love to see proposals for lectures and workshops that are educational, playful, inspiring, and liberating! Please note that for the 2011 conference, we will be decreasing the number of workshops offered, so as much as we would love to, we may not be able to accept every proposal. Feel free to send several presentation proposals - it will give us more options for including you as a presenter. Proposals should include a basic description of material to be covered, level of practitioner for which the class is appropriate, and any other equipment or props that will be needed for your class/presentation. Again, the deadline to submit proposals is July 31st, 2010. Please email your proposals to rsvp@texasyogaconference.com.
We are also accepting team proposals for a special TYC Health and Wellness Forum of Experts and Teachersto be held on Saturday afternoon, Feb 26, 2010.
The 2011 Texas Yoga Conference is shaping up to be even bigger and better than the first, and we hope you can share in that growth as we continue to unite the Texas yoga community and spread the bliss of yoga! We ask that you please help us this year market our event by mentioning us in your newsletters, on Facebook and other marketing avenues that you may use.
