Always the fitness enthusiast, Angi Hunter stepped into her first Hatha Yoga class 15 years ago. Inspired by her first teacher, she knew she had found something that would last a lifetime. The energy of the room, the body’s work in the poses and the amazing feeling at the end of the class settled in naturally.
Dabbling in many western yoga varieties, she found what resonated with her in 2001 when she took her first Hot Yoga class. In 2003, she graduated from Sunstone Yoga’s first teacher training program, received her 500 RYT certification and began her yoga teaching journey. After 8 years in Finance, Marketing and IT, she transitioned from the corporate world to focus on her passion for teaching yoga full time.
Since 2003, she has been actively transforming and facilitating body, mind, life practices in the Sunstone Yoga community and her own personal life. In 2007, she joined Sunstone Yoga’s teacher training program as a Teaching Faculty member. In 2009, Angi was introduced to David Emerald’s The Empowerment Dynamic (TED*). After completing the TED* Practitioner’s Program in April 2011, she earned the title of TED* Practitioner. In her experience, TED* plays a dynamic role in simplifying and integrating the body/mind practices that influence our daily lives and community. Angi is currently the Director at Sunstone Yoga Academy, a private membership yoga training organization located in Addison, TX, where she continues to share her passion for yoga and teaching with others.
Angi enjoys exploring the relationship between body, mind and life practices. It has always been her belief that we, as teachers, are granted the privilege of sharing or “sprinkling” the distinctive and unique pieces of ourselves with others. We all have the calling and capacity to lead. Her vision is that we all embrace life’s fullness, compassion and gratitude so that the creative joy and lightness within each of us inspires others to cultivate their best selves.
Angi will present:
TED* The Empowerment Dynamic – Building Community: Friday, February 17 – 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
